Egypt’s ministry of tourism and antiquities has launched this week the official website for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), marking a major step in preparations for the landmark institution’s opening on November 1, 2025.
The new site serves as a comprehensive digital gateway to the world’s largest archaeological museum, offering visitors information about its vision, mission, history, board of trustees, and key partners, along with details on exhibitions, events, and visitor services.
The platform includes interactive features such as directions to the museum, transportation options, visiting hours, and an online ticketing system that enables users to book and purchase tickets securely. It also provides insights into the museum’s commercial area, which includes restaurants, cafés, shops, and landscaped gardens.
The ministry hopes the new website would promote the museum globally and strengthen Egypt’s tourism appeal, while giving visitors easy access to reliable information and services in line with the latest international digital standards.
