Ministers probe program to stimulate civil aviation sector

The ministers of petroleum, tourism and civil aviation, Tarek el Mulla, Khaled el Anany and Mohamed Manar Enabah, respectively, discussed on Thursday 9/4/2020 cooperation as regards the implementation of a program that seeks to stimulate the civil aviation sector, as per a decision issued by the Cabinet.

Petroleum minister Mulla asserted the keenness of his ministry on maintaining cooperation and coordination with the ministers of tourism and civil aviation in order to overcome the challenges of the current stage and putting into effect the aviation sector’s stimulation program.

The ministers discussed the prospects of reducing the fees paid at airports as well as the cost of aviation fuel, in accordance with the resolutions of the ministerial tourism and antiquities committee that convened in March.

Meanwhile, the civil aviation minister reviewed the key challenges facing the sector, especially during the current stage, as well as the underway coordination between the petroleum sector and EgyptAir regarding the pricing of jet fuel.

The ministers agreed to launch a new initiative to activate the domestic tourism, particularly in the tourist areas of the Red Sea in order to stimulate internal flights.
