Saleh Muzaini chairman of the Arab –European Council for Environment announced the establishment of the Arab Council for environment tourism for the purpose of supporting, promoting and developing eco-tourism in the Arab world countries.
Muzaini said that the Kuwait-based Arab Council for the Environment would be presided by former Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Osama Al Dabbas, adding that the Kuwaiti Tareq Al Obaid executive secretary of Arab –European Council for Environment would be the vice-president.
He explained that the establishment of the Council comes within the agreement and coordination with the Arab Organization for Tourism, headed by Bandar Al Fuhaid thanks to its great expertise in tourism field in Arab countries and the promotion of tourist sites.
Saleh Muzaini stated that members of the Arab Council for Tourism Environment would be selected from some specialists in the Arab countries which show great interest in environment in general and tourism environment in particular.
He concluded that the Council aims to prepare the region states to apply conventions on carbon tax to be compulsively imposed on air transport in all world countries.
