Islam and Tourism Forum (ITF) held in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a recommended the establishment of an organization for Islamic tourism within the framework of the Islamic Conference Organization.
The participants in the forum called for the Islamic Conference Organization to adopt a draft of the Islamic tourism capital and arrange an annual Islamic tourism award for the best Islamic tourist city.
They also urged Islamic states to establish tourist industry committed to legality controls and Islamic values as well as set up institutes for training and preparing tour guides so as to be able to highlight the Islamic culture.
The ITF stressed the necessity of promoting ecotourism among Islamic countries and facilitating inter-Arab movement procedures.
Moreover, scholars, thinkers, and participants in the forum emphasized the need to focus on Islamic sites related to Islamic history, and historical sites mentioned in holy Qur'an and Islamic heritage together with making use of them for familiarizing with Islam, developing tourist activities in Muslim countries, highlighting its cultural and urban values as well as Rehabilitating those sites in order to be included within World heritage list.
